The Boy with an Axe in His Head.

Scheduled for publication 1st July 2008, The story is a simple tale of a boy who, after an unfortunate accident at a stately home, has to learn to live with an axe embedded in his skull. Told in verse, the 32 page book is an illustrated story book for children.

The original idea came from a drawing of a bear I did a couple of years ago. I got to thinking how it would be to have an axe sticking from my head - this book is an exploration of that idea. Maxwell, the boy’s name, became my working title for the book, mainly because I can type ‘Maxwell’ faster than I can type ‘The Boy with an Axe in His Head’. So, if I inadvertantly mention Maxwell in conversation, you’ll know what I mean.

All of the Illustrations for The Boy with an Axe in His Head were produced with a traditionally inked line on detail paper with colour added in Photoshop.
